Plan the programme around the whole journey
An Advent outing begins before you reach the first market stall. Allow time for boarding, travel and breaks as well as the visit itself. For longer routes, consider whether a day trip or a more relaxed overnight stay is right for your group. Check the dates and opening hours of your chosen event in advance.
Agree arrival and return meeting points
In a city centre, it may not be possible to stop directly beside a Christmas market. Allow for the drop-off point, the walk to the market and a clear meeting point for departure. Give the group the organiser's contact details and tell everyone when to be ready to board again. A shared return point helps with finding your way, including after an evening programme.
